Brightspace Frequently Asked Questions

Check out our newly updated Brightspace FAQs! This list runs through the most common questions the Brightspace Support Team gets throughout the year. If you have any questions not listed here, be sure to contact our Support team for assistance.

Support Schedule

The 天美传媒官网 Brightspace Instructional Technologists are available for support between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday. Any emails received after 4 PM will be addressed when our team returns to normal support at 8 AM the following business day. While we鈥檙e out, we encourage you to utilize our On-Demand Resources to answer any questions that arise.

My Media is located on the navbar of the Brightspace homepage. It can always be easily accessed by clicking the 天美传媒官网 logo or Home icon at the top of any Brightspace page. My Media is a repository for all of your videos, which can then be distributed to any of your courses.

Kaltura Quick Start

1) Click on the My Media tab on your Brightspace homepage. When accessing 鈥淢y Media鈥 for the first time, Brightspace will ask your permission to use Kaltura. Select the checkbox and then click Continue.

2) To begin adding media, click Add New

The options are:

  • Media Upload 鈥 This allows a user to upload media from their local computer. Media that can be uploaded includes video, audio, and image files.
  • Kaltura Capture 鈥 This allows a user to record their screen and add audio narration, or use their webcam. Refer to this guide for more information on Kaltura Capture.
  • Video Quiz 鈥 This allows users to embed questions within their videos. These questions are not connected to the grade book in any fashion. They remain only within the Kaltura video and are to be used as reflective questions for the viewer.

3) After adding media from one the above choices, a list of your available media will be presented.

4) From this page you can sort, search, view, edit, and delete media.

Kaltura Capture Basics

  1. Begin recording
  2. Select the screen you鈥檇 like to record
  3. Select the webcam you鈥檇 like to record
    • Can also be used to select a second screen to record by selecting the v icon
  4. Enable/disable microphone
    • Select the v icon next to Audio to choose a microphone
  5. Change settings and access previously recorded Kaltura videos
    • Includes the option to record device audio which is useful if you鈥檇 like to show a video with sound during your recording
