A number of e-scooter companies\u00a0operate in Nashville. These vehicles\u00a0can provide a flexible off-campus\u00a0mobility option for the campus\u00a0community, but commercial scooter\u00a0deployment, riding, and parking is\u00a0currently prohibited at nearly all\u00a0on-campus locations.<\/p>\n

To take a ride on one of these\u00a0scooters, download the company’s app,\u00a0link a credit card to pay for rides, and\u00a0use the in-app map to find the closest\u00a0scooter. Most likely, the closest scooter\u00a0will be found just outside the edge of\u00a0the campus deployment boundary.<\/p>\n

\"Commercial<\/a><\/p>\n

When planning a route to your\u00a0destination, keep in mind that the motor\u00a0on commercial scooters will turn off\u00a0when entering the campus boundary.<\/p>\n

If returning to campus via scooter, plan\u00a0to end your trip before entering the\u00a0campus boundary, and be thoughtful\u00a0about where you place the scooter.\u00a0Make sure not to block paths or access\u00a0points to any facilities.<\/p>\n

Riding personal scooters is allowed on-campus, but the batteries in these devices present an increased fire risk. As such, members of the campus community are prohibited from bringing e-scooters or their batteries into campus buildings or residence halls<\/strong> for charging or storage.<\/p>\n
