Opened in August 2024, Oliver C. Carmichael College. Oliver C. Carmichael College is located on the corner of West End Avenue and 24th Avenue South.\u00a0 Carmichael College provides state-of-the-art accommodations inside gothic-style architecture.<\/p>\n
Carmichael College houses 305 upper-division students in four-person suites, traditional double rooms, and traditional single rooms.\u00a0 Corridors and common areas are carpeted. Student rooms have hard surface flooring.<\/p>\n
The college includes Carmichael Caf\u00e9, located within the college, will feature an all-day caf\u00e9 with handcrafted espresso beverages, pastries, sandwiches and more.<\/p>\n
Carmichael College is led by a Faculty Head of College. The Faculty Head works closely with Residential Colleges staff, a graduate student worker, and the College Programming and Advisory Councils to encourage living and learning outside of the classroom. The residents are also supported by an Area Coordinator who resides in neighboring E. Bronson Ingram College, and Head Residents and Resident Advisers who all live in the college.<\/p>\n
Carmichael College was constructed on the site of the former Carmichael Towers, which were named in memory of Oliver C. Carmichael, Vanderbilt\u2019s third chancellor (1937-1946).<\/p>\n
Residency also incurs the required Residential College Experience Fee.<\/p>\n
