Residential Colleges coordinates Sophomore Year Experience (SYE) programming to support students' successful transition from the first year of college.聽This collection of programming is designed to provide second-year undergraduate students with multiple opportunities to connect with faculty, staff and peers as they learn about important campus and community resources. SYE annual events include the聽Sophomore RECHARGE,听Sophomore Study Snacks, and the聽Sophomore SMASH & SCREAM.聽Sophomores also receive priority invitations to聽Explore Nashville听别虫肠耻谤蝉颈辞苍蝉.

Charged up for sophomore year! series

In addition to individual events and programs, sophomores are encouraged to participate in the聽Charged Up for Sophomore Year!聽series during the fall semester. This series is designed to help students stay ENERGIZED and PLUGGED IN to campus resources that are essential to their second year at Vanderbilt鈥�.while avoiding a sophomore slump. To win great prizes and experiences, second-year students visit participating campus resource offices and attend eligible campus events. For Fall, 2025, the series runs from August 20 to November 21. Prizes are awarded according to different levels of participation:

  • Tier 1

    Students who complete an appointment/meeting with聽1聽campus resources office and attend聽1聽eligible event will receive a VU swag item!

  • Tier 2

    Students who complete an appointment/meeting with聽2聽campus resources offices and attend聽2聽eligible events will receive a VU swag item聽and聽an invitation to a special聽Sophomore Sunday Dinner聽that will be catered by a favorite off-campus restaurant!

  • Tier 3

    Students who complete an appointment/meeting with all聽3聽campus resources offices and attend聽3聽eligible events will receive a VU swag item聽and聽an invitation to a special聽Sophomore Sunday Dinner聽that will be catered by a favorite off-campus restaurant聽and聽an invitation to a聽Sophomore Spa Day聽featuring an oxygen bar, massage therapists, skincare products, and more!
