The required CommonVU Orientation<\/a> will begin with Move-In Day in mid-August (date TBA). Orientation will include sessions and activities to prepare you for your Vanderbilt journey.<\/p>\n

Through CommonVU Orientation, you will learn more about your academic program, be introduced to extracurricular opportunities and campus resources, and get to know other members of your class. Additionally, you will meet your student and faculty VUceptors who will serve as guides throughout your first semester at Vanderbilt. More information about the CommonVU Orientation schedule will be shared on this page in early July.<\/p>\n

\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tInternational Student Orientation<\/a>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/span><\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

International Student Orientation (ISO)<\/a> is required for all international first-year undergraduates and begins with international move-in on Wednesday, August 19 from 8 a.m.\u20138 p.m. CDT, prior to domestic move-in. <\/strong>Domestic students currently living abroad are also welcome to attend, but it is not required. If you would like to participate, please email commons@vanderbilt.edu<\/a> by July 15, 2026<\/strong>. New international graduate students should consult with their individual programs and departments for an orientation schedule. After International Student Orientation, first-year international students will also participate in the required\u00a0CommonVU Orientation.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Parent and Family Orientation is offered in the evening on domestic student Move-In Day. Immediately following the event, parents and families are invited to join the panelists for a reception. The session will be live streamed and recorded for families who need to depart early.<\/p>\n

Parking for Parent and Family Orientation is provided in the 25th Avenue Garage. Please\u00a0do not<\/span> park in the VA Hospital parking lots. Driving instructions are outlined below, however a shuttle is provided from The Ingram Commons and the Terrace Place Garage between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
