A new semester welcomes new faces to campus, new routines and, for many students, a new way to fuel up. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast between classes, meeting friends for dinner or looking for something that reminds you of home, Campus Dining offers plenty of ways to make meals part of your Vanderbilt experience and community.Ìý

Welcome back, Commodores! We’re so happy you’re back on campus. If you’re new to Vanderbilt, here’s 10 things to know as you get started with Campus Dining, and if you’re back for seconds, we hope this will be a good refresher for the new academic year.ÌýÌý

1. Know where to eat and when. Ìý

From dining halls to cafés to Munchie Marts, restaurants around campus through the Taste of Nashville program and VandyCart, Campus Dining offers a variety of options to fit your schedule and cravings.ÌýÌý

2. Be familiar with your meal plan.ÌýÌý

Your meal plan gives you flexibility in how you dine on campus. Depending on your plan, you may have a combination of meal swipes, Meal Money and other options to use throughout the semester.Ìý

3. We take community building seriously. Ìý

Campus Dining takes its role in building community seriously. Each month, we host and collaborate on events, student partnerships and special offerings that bring the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø community together.ÌýÌý

4. Ditch single-use containers with ReusePass.Ìý

Take your to-go meal in a reusable container and help reduce single-use plastic waste with ReusePass, our innovative reusable container program.Ìý

  • Sign up: Visit to create your account and access your unique QR code.Ìý
  • Pick up a container: Show your QR code to pick up a green reusable container at Commons, EBI, Rothschild, Kissam or Rand.Ìý
  • Return it: When you’re finished, return your container to the dish return area at any participating location. Containers are washed and sanitized before being reused, and your ReusePass account will be updated within three days.Ìý

5. We offer dietary assistance and allergen-friendly dining.Ìý

Campus Dining offers resources and support for students managing food allergies and dietary restrictions, including personalized guidance, an allergen meal program and dietary restriction-friendly dining options across campus. Emergency epinephrine auto-injectors are also available in dining halls across campus.Ìý

  • Dairy-free and kosher: ZepposÌý
  • Gluten-free: KissamÌý
  • Peanut and tree nut-free: Commons, Kissam, Rand, EBI, Zeppos and The PubÌý
  • Top 9 allergen-free and halal: EBIÌý

6. We’re always cooking up something new, literally and figuratively. Ìý

Throughout the semester, we’ll share more from Campus Dining, including stories about the people who make it all happen, special events, new offerings and more ways to make the most of your dining experience at Vanderbilt.Ìý

Whether you’re trying a new dish, grabbing a quick meal between classes or discovering a new spot to gather with friends, we hope you’ll make exploring the diverse culinary profiles across Campus Dining as part of your Vanderbilt experience.Ìý

7. Get Well Meals are here when you need them.ÌýÌý

Not feeling your best? Campus Dining’s Get Well Meals make it easy to get a nourishing meal when you’re under the weather.ÌýÌý

Available through VandyCart in the Transact Mobile app, students can order a breakfast or lunch/dinner meal kit and have a friend or roommate pick it up at Commons, Kissam, Rand or Highland. Meals can be purchased with a meal swipe, Meal Money, Commodore Cash or a credit card.Ìý

8. You can sweeten any celebration with VandyCakes.ÌýÌý

Celebrating a birthday, milestone or just want a little something sweet? VandyCakes offers customizable treats made for sharing, including decorated cookies, brownies and cakes, plus a vegan chocolate chip cookie option. Orders can be placed online or through the GET app for pickup at Café Carmichael and must be placed at least two days in advance.Ìý

Students, faculty and staff receive 20% off when paying with Meal Money or Commodore Cash. Parents, friends and others can also order VandyCakes as guests to send a sweet surprise to a student.Ìý

Your dining experience matters, and Campus Dining wants to hear from you.ÌýÌý

Text & Tell makes it easy to share real-time feedback directly from your phone, whether you have a question, suggestion, concern or compliment.Ìý
