| Full Description |
We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral fellow to join our interdisciplinary team working at the cutting edge of biomedical optics and translational imaging. This position supports a major NIH-funded initiative to improve the specificity of bladder cancer detection by developing a compact, multimodal imaging system combining digital staining and polarization-sensitive OCT.
The selected candidate will take a lead role in integrating and validating a miniaturized PS-OCT probe into a functional imaging platform for use in ex vivo tissue studies.
Responsibilities include: -Optical system design, integration and alignment -Calibration and validation using phantoms and tissue samples -Supporting data acquisition and interfacing with other imaging technologies -Contributing to publication, presentation, and reporting of results -Collaborating with engineers and clinical researchers
Required Qualifications: -Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field -Demonstrated experience in optical system assembly and calibration -Familiarity with OCT or similar optical imaging modalities -Proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or C++ -Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications: -Experience with polarization-sensitive OCT -Experience testing or deploying imaging systems on biological samples -Prior publications in biomedical optics or system design
The Bowden Lab is part of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø Biophotonics Center and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and is deeply engaged in interdisciplinary research at the interface of optics, medicine, and engineering. |
