The required CommonVU Orientation begins on Move-In Day on Saturday, August 22, and offers activities and programs for first-year students to introduce you to the living-learning communities of your houses and The Ingram Commons, the faculties and academic classes of your schools, the norms and values of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø community, upper-division students and their organizations, and Nashville. Additionally, you will meet your student and faculty VUceptors who will serve as guides throughout your first semester at Vanderbilt.
Parents and families are invited to join in on Move-In Day, with specialized programming in the evening. More information about these sessions will be available in July.
Beginning on Sunday, August 23 all programming is for students only.
The full CommonVU Orientation schedule will be posted in early July.
Students should plan for four full days of orientation prior to the start of classes, as well as events on the first weekend after the start of classes. Mandatory events may only be missed for academic conflicts, illness or religious observances. Please contact commons@vanderbilt.eduÌýin advanceÌýif you believe you need to miss any portion of orientation.
